COMMUNE is delighted to be one of the recipients of the City of Vienna Gallery Prize 2025.
The awards are presented annually to five galleries recognising consistent and outstanding work, as well as their commitment to Vienna as an art hub. Among them are spaces with a clear focus on conceptual art or the process of artistic creation, as well as spaces that offer space for experimentation and transdisciplinary work.
"The wide range of galleries, art spaces and off-spaces enrich the city, contribute to the diversity of art and thus enhance Vienna's reputation as a centre for art. For artists and everyone working in the field of contemporary art, they are important places for networking, platforms that create publicity, introduce new positions and ideas, and thus provide important impetus," says Vienna's City Councillor for Culture, Veronica Kaup-Hasler.
The award winners were nominated by an independent advisory board consisting of art historians and curators, currently including Georgia Holz, Vanessa Joan Müller and Luisa Ziaja.
