We are delighted to welcome Kate Wallace back to Vienna where she will be in residence at PART Residency from May-July.
Founded in 2025 and commissioned by the Federal Ministry for Housing, Arts, Culture, Media and Sport, PART International Art Residency Austria is conceived as a new residence programme for artistic research, interdisciplinary discourse and transnational cooperation, located in the south pavilion of the Praterateliers Vienna. Artists, curators, and theorists from around the world are invited to deepen their engagement with the social, political and ecological questions of our time.
The studios in Vienna’s Prater look back on a long history. Originally built for the World’s Fair of 1873 as the Pavillons des Amateurs, the north and south pavilions – along with the rotunda, an art hall, and around two hundred further pavilions – were used to present contemporary and historical works. After the World’s Fair ended, the buildings were repurposed into sculpture studios and, in continuous use from 1876, have played a productive part of Austria’s art scene ever since.
